Hiroshima, August
Hiroshima. The first city in the world to suffer a nuclear attack.
Fifty years after the bomb fell, in that same month of August,
a boy was born there.
Six years old, September 11
At six, the boy watched 9/11 unfold on television.
And he set his heart on the United Nations.
In time, he grew fascinated by the UN, and by outer space.
The United Nations was a dream born from the ruins of the Second World War. The boy began to chase that unchanging dream.
Born in Hiroshima, he resolved to bring the Earth a new era, peaceful and full of life.
The golden age in the countryside
He spent the golden years of elementary school running wild in Kannabe, a small country town.
Chasing his dream of the United Nations, he even appeared in a magazine.
From Hiroshima Gakuin to the University of Tokyo
He went on to Hiroshima Gakuin, and from there entered the Faculty of Law at the University of Tokyo.
He searched for his path in life, touched the cutting edge of technology, and felt the front lines of politics.
Adventure, rock bottom, and the pandemic
He met friends who were founders.
Together they chased a distant dream: connecting the whole Earth through one system. He was determined to make it real.
His twenties were spent in the challenge of building companies, in days at rock bottom, and in the full force of the COVID-19 pandemic.
On the front line of care
From there, in the world of social welfare,
he felt with his own hands the bonds that hold a society together.
What does it really mean to connect the Earth?
He asked himself that on the front line, supporting a local community.
The first flight
As his first child was about to be born, he taught himself to fly, with a drone.
The name he gave his son carries this meaning:
A bold hope,
leading humanity into the unknown sky.
Across forty kilometers
But when his son was two, the marriage ended.
In deep sorrow, seeing his son once a month,
he prayed with everything he had to keep their bond alive across forty kilometers.
Beyond politics, economics, and culture.
Across every border.
A quarter century after he first dreamed of one Earth,
he founded a company
to connect the world
under one sky.
The vision of one great, shared sky
has driven that boy's heart ever since.
